I've made up a bunch of fun hats for my www.fleecefun.com site.  So cute and so easy!

So after giving it some thought, I've decided to start a blog that is dedicated to sewing with fleece.  You can check it out here at www.fleecefun.com.  I will be putting my new patterns over on that sight.  Enjoy!

I thought it would be nice to have some pillows for the girls to lounge on in the playroom.  But rather than go out and buy all new pillow forms I though I would just cover pillows I already had but wasn't using.  Plus I had some extra fleece lying around.  Making slip on pillow covers is easy and it doesn't take a lot of time.  I'll try and post some basic instructions in a few days.

The only thing worse than you being sick is you and your kids being sick..on a holiday.  A day that is supposed to be fun is now going to be spent wiping noses and making sure my two year old doesn't have an asthma attack.  Plus I really wanted to make a dent in some of the projects for the girls room and oh yeah clean the house. But I guess that will have to wait until tomorrow or Monday.  Bummer.

I at least got started on the girls' room yesterday... after shopping, beginning to put away Christmas, doing dishes and laundry...phew.  I began with a little "dress up" corner.  My little girl got a bunch of princess dresses for Christmas and I wanted them to be readily accessible to her.  Next I wanted to fill up the large blank wall with some color.  Since I want this room to stay flexible (it won't always be a playroom) I decided to mix some colored metal flowers I got at Hobby Lobby (on sale!) with vinyl.  I concentrated the vinyl and then made it disperse across the wall.  I think eventually I will get some chipboard or paper mache letters and put a saying or a word there.  The cartridges I used were Cindy Loo, Storybook, and Gypsy.  I had fun putting the wall together... now I just need to get to the rest of the room!
Tip:  Mix items like vinyl and rod-iron to make an interesting collage - mixing mediums will make your wall art pop more.

Well I guess that I need to start cleaning up Christmas.  It's always so depressing to take down the holiday decorations.  After there gone the house seems so empty and winter is in full force. Sigh.  But I've given myself a project.  I am going to decorate the girl's playroom.  I've bought some cute items from Hobby Lobby and I am going to cut out some fun vinyl shapes.  I'll post some before and after photos and give you any tips I learn along the way!

Fleece Pants! 12/17/2010

I love these pants.  They are easy, cheap and great for kids to play in during winter.  Check out the free patterns section to get a copy of the pattern.  Or if you would like to try your hand at pattern drafting there is a great tutorial here that's a great jumping off point.

Instead of the same old boring Christmas card - why not edit together a little video card to share with all your friends and family.  It's fun, allows others to get a good look at your family traditions and you don't have to a ton of money on postage!  Here's look of our family traditions.
